Le Laperouse is an expedition-class ship that joined the Ponant Cruises fleet in spring 2018. Built in Norway, she sails itineraries in several of the most remote regions on earth, including Antarctica, the Arctic and the Pacific.

Le Laperouse has the capacity for 184 guests and a variety of features, including an underwater lounge and a water-sports marina. To further enhance your experience, Le Laperouse carries a fleet of Zodiacs that can be deployed to reach landing zones and take excursions to points of interest.

For comfort and safety, Le Laperouse has a reinforced hull and has been awarded a ‘clean ship label’ by the Bureau Veritas who audit the lengths taken by ships to perform in an environmentally friendly manner.

Le Laperouse Staterooms & Suites

The accommodation on Ponant’s Le Laperouse has six grades of stateroom and suite. They are as follows:

  • Deluxe Staterooms
  • Deluxe Suites
  • Grand Deluxe Suites
  • Prestige Staterooms
  • Prestige Suites
  • Owner’s Suites

All of the accommodation grades on Le Laperouse have a private balcony and amenities, including en-suite bathroom facilities, climate control, satellite television, a mini-bar, a writing desk and a personal safe.

Le Laperouse Dining

There are two principal dining options on Le Laperouse. The ship’s main dining room is a panoramic restaurant that provides seating for all of the ship’s guests. Unlike similar-sized ships, the dining room opens out onto the deck so guests may dine outside should they wish. Breakfast and lunch are generally buffet-style, while evening meals are served course-by-course at your table.

In keeping with the dining experiences offered on other ships in the Ponant fleet, the food served on Le Laperouse is expertly prepared by a team of chefs who source the freshest ingredients to create a menu consisting of French fine-dining classics and regionally-influenced dishes.

An outdoor grill on deck 3 of Le Laperouse offers a more informal dining experience than found in the main dining room. Here you can enjoy freshly grilled fish and meat, along with salad and pasta options.

Le Laperouse Public Areas & Facilities

The public areas and facilities onboard Le Laperouse promote an air of space and intimacy. As such, the main lounge provides ample seating for nearly all of the ship’s guests and offers the perfect environment for relaxing with a good book, catching up with new friends or enjoying some of the ship’s low-key entertainment.

As Le Laperouse is primarily an expedition ship, much of the entertainment onboard is geared towards learning more about the world and the region you are exploring. One of the best examples of this is the ship’s multisensory Blue Eye Lounge. This unique space gives guests a privileged underwater perspective of life below the waves, with whale-eye windows situated and high-definition cameras positioned below the waterline.

Le Laperouse also features a marina at the rear of the ship used in warm weather climates for sunbathing and water sports activities such as paddle-boarding and snorkelling.

Other facilities on Le Laperouse include:

  • Infinity swimming pool
  • Solarium
  • Outdoor bar/lounge
  • Theatre with seating for 188 guests
  • Medical centre
