Klaipeda Cruises

Klaipeda is situated on a canal linking the Neman River and the Courland Lagoon with the Baltic Sea.

A fortress was built here in the 13th century, next to an earlier settlement. This was destroyed by the Teutonic Knights in 1252 and replaced by another fortification. The city was part of East Prussia until 1923.
