The Itinerary
Operating round-trip from Bergen, every Classic Round Voyage is comprised of two distinct segments. The first is the northbound journey when you will visit cities such as Alesund and Trondheim before heading into the Arctic. After a turnaround in Kirkenes, you will cruise southbound along the west coast, stopping to admire pretty harbour towns, magnificent fjords and the Seven Sisters mountains before arriving back in Bergen.
When to go
There’s never a bad time to go on a Classic Round Voyage! The sailings operate all year round and each season each brings its own treats and spectacles.
Travel in the spring between March and April and you will enjoy a fusion of colours, blooming flowers and a range of festivities in the towns and cities dotted along the coast. The summer months between May and August offer longer days, warmer weather and the chance to see the Midnight Sun, while autumn brings a sprinkling of snow to the mountaintops and colours the tree lines with a pleasing hue of reds, greens and yellows.
The winter months, which commonly run between November and February, bring heavier snowfall to Norway, particularly in the Arctic, while the darker days offer an extra dash of magic to the experience
See The Northern Lights on a Classic Round Voyage
The Classic Round Voyage also offers the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights. Choose to cruise between November and February and it is highly likely you will spot the lights as you travel into the Arctic.
