Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Launches 2015/2017 HANSEATIC Expedition Cruises
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has launched its new 2015-2017 Expedition Cruises brochure, which offers a total of eleven enriching itineraries aboard the world’s only five-star expedition ship, HANSEATIC.
Guests joining HANSEATIC during her 2015-2017 voyages can experience the beauty of the Arctic and Antarctica, the Amazon, South Seas islands and Chilean fjords. Her popular Northeast Passage itinerary will also feature.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises HANSEATIC was built to provide intensive exploration in the most elegant surroundings for a maximum of 175 guests. She has the highest ice class for a passenger ship, 14 onboard zodiacs - that allow for landings on untouched shores - and a shallow draught, perfect for the regions she visits.
Expedition to the Northeast Passage
In August/September 2014, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises made cruise history not once, but twice, as the HANSEATIC premiered traversing the Northeast Passage as the first non-Russian passenger ship – and reached the northernmost point for a passenger ship. The ship will once again brave this great pioneering endeavour on a 27-day cruise departing Norway on August 16, 2016, concluding in Alaska on September 10, 2016.
Guests on board HANSEATIC’s Antarctica expeditions will encounter a fascinating land of extremes: mighty glaciers and majestic icebergs are interspersed with huge colonies of penguins and the realm of whales. Since it has the highest ice class for passenger ships, HANSEATIC is in her element well away from civilisation and will take guests right into the wonderland of Antarctica.
Step into the zodiacs and discover the power and magic of the gigantic Amazon River. HANSEATIC’s small size and shallow draught enables her to travel the more than 4,000-kilometre-long passage from the mouth of the Amazon in Belem to Iquitos and back.
