From Ballet to Bridge; Silversea’s 2017 Enrichment Programme

Silversea recently announced details of the exciting enrichment opportunities available to guests on a selection of 2017 voyages.

The luxury cruise line, which is renowned for its exceptional onboard service and facilities, has enhanced a variety of departures later this year with an extensive enrichment programme. Aimed at bringing guests closer to their personal passions, Silversea's programme features noted special guests and performers from the worlds of ballet, the culinary arts and music.

Opera cruises in partnership with Accademia Teatro alla Scala

Milan’s Accademia Teatro alla Scala is internationally recognised for its incredible high standards when it comes to educating aspiring performers and gifted artists. On two Mediterranean sailings with Silversea this summer, guests will be treated to opera performances from the school’s Academy of Lyric Opera.

Ballet cruises with acclaimed Russian ballet soloists

Guests aboard two Silversea voyages in August and September will be given the opportunity to enjoy performances by two of Russia’s top ballet dancers, Daria Khokhlova and Artemy Belyakov, both of whom hail from the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

Ballet Cruise with L'Opéra de Paris Star

Solo ballet performer, Jean-Sébastien Colau, will be treating guests aboard Silver Muse’s Northern America voyage this October to his artistry when he takes the stage for a special duo performance.

Silversea Bridge Cruises

On Silver Wind’s transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Barbados in November, guests with a passion for bridge can compete to win an array of prizes in Silversea’s bridge tournament. The voyage will also be joined by American Contract Bridge League ‘life masters’ Gerald Fox and Steve Smolen.

Culinary Arts & Wine Voyages

As part of Silversea’s culinary enrichment programme, a selection of sailings will host a range of demonstrations, cooking classes and shore excursions.

7th October, Silver Spirit - “Tastes of the Mediterranean”: Hosted by Umberto Menghi and Michael Jacob. Includes demonstrations, market visits, culinary-themed shore excursions and gala dinners.

8th October, Silver Shadow - "Relais & Châteaux® Gourmet Cruise": Guest chef Dominique Bouchet joins the guests on Silver Shadow for gala dinners and cooking demonstrations.

23rd October, Silver Spirit - “Wine Cruise”: Presented in partnership with the Professional Association of Italian Sommeliers and an association of Italy’s top winemakers, Comitato Grandi Cru d'Italia, this wine-themed itinerary will feature tasting sessions and an introduction into the art of winemaking.

25th October, Silver Explorer - “Culinary Expedition Voyage”: This South America sailing showcases the skills of guest chefs from Peru and Chile while also giving guests the opportunity to try their hand at making their own seafood dishes.
