Faster Internet Speeds On Cruise Ships Promised

Cruise ship internet provider, MNT, has promised to roll out faster internet speeds at a lower cost for onboard guests.

Using the internet at sea is a bugbear for many guests who travel on cruise ships, owing to the slow download speeds and high costs. Whilst it is possible to buy special internet packages for the duration of a voyage, the value is lessened due to the frustrating connectivity issues.

MNT Satellite Communications, who have been providing internet solutions for cruise ships since the early 1990s, are set to launch a new network which the believe will speed up download speeds on cruise ships immeasurably.

MNT’s President, Errol Olivier states that the company’s new MNT Nexus network should exceed guests’ expectations and offer a much improved service: “If this thing feels twice as fast, we’ve failed. It’s got to feel five times, ten times faster. It’s got to get close to the land-based experience”.
