Cunard Cruises To Offer Weddings At Sea

For the first time in Cunard’s illustrious history, passengers will now be able to get married aboard one of the world famous cruise line’s ships.

All three of Cunard’s ships, the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria, will begin taking wedding bookings from December 2011. The luxury cruise line has been in operation for 171 years and next year will mark the first time they have offered their guests this special service.

Peter Shanks, who is currently Cunard’s Managing Director, stated that Cunard needed match the marriage-focused offerings of their competitors:

“…[Weddings at sea] are now very big business in the cruise industry. We receive a lot of enquiries about the possibility of being married on one of our ships – particularly about weddings mid-Atlantic onboard the Queen Mary 2, which no other company can offer”.

Cunard will officially begin their new weddings program following the completion of spring 2012’s World Voyages. Specially created packages will be made available to interested parties in December 2011, with a brochure due for launch a month earlier in November 2011.
