Cunard Celebrates Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Luxury cruise line Cunard will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a special event in Southampton on 5 June 2012.
Cunard has long been associated with the British Royal Family with their latest ship, Queen Elizabeth, named by Her Majesty herself in 2010. To celebrate the Bank holiday Jubilee, Cunard will host a Three Queens event where, for the first time, all three ships will meet in their home port of Southampton. On the day, visitors and Cunard passengers can enjoy a spectacular ceremonious meeting with events throughout the day and an evening firework display.
Peter Shanks, Managing Director for Cunard stated, “Cunard is delighted to be able to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in a way that will give everyone, especially our passengers, a truly remarkable day that they will feel proud to talk about for years to come, taking part in history and marking the sixty glorious years of Her Majesty’s reign in a fitting, memorable and spectacular way.”’
All three ships will set sail later in the evening. Queen Elizabeth will begin her 14-night St Petersburg and Baltic Capitals Explorer cruise, Queen Victoria will be leaving for her 17-night Adriatic Explorer voyage Cruise and Queen Mary will be sailing a cruise break for 5-nights visiting Rotterdam, Zeebrugge and Le Havre.
