Crystal Cruises call at Slovenia this Autumn
Crystal Cruises will be making a maiden port call at Slovenia this autumn to mark the nations’ 20th Anniversary of Independence.
Crystal will visit the medieval town Koper Slovenia’s largest coastal town as part of its “Italian Splendor” voyage that departs from Venice on November 16th. From Koper guests can either enjoy walks around the port or join one of the six shore excursions.
Travellers have often overlooked Slovenia in favour of its neighbours Italy and Croatia but recently the mountainous country has become a hot location for visitors due to its history, culture and scenery. The country offers visitors fairytale castles, enchanting towns, lush green forests and crystal blue lakes. Crystal’s senior vice president of operations Thomas Mazloum stated;
“Slovenia is a largely-undiscovered European gem that has suddenly become trendy in the travelsphere, Offering travelers new, intimate global experiences, delivered in our signature luxury style, are at the heart of Crystal’s six-star ethos.”
The six Slovenian shore excursions will include visits to the coastal towns of Piran, Portoroz and the city of Triest, a wine-tasting trip to Slovenia’s wine regions and an exploration of the world famous Postojna Cave that offer 12miles of underground stalactite-filled passages and chambers. For those looking for that enchanting fairy-tale architecture Slovenia is renowned for, guests can opt for a trip to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s beautiful capital or to the majestic and oldest castles in Slovenia Bled & Miramare.
