Cruise Awards Names Queen Best Ambassador

After naming Cunards newest Cruise liner, the Queen Elizabeth, Her Majesty has been voted the ‘Best Ambassador’ throughout the cruise industry.

The Queen, being a keen cruiser herself and the godmother to many fantastic cruise ships, is a great supporter of the cruise industry. Her majesty was awarded the title at the 2010 UK Cruise industry awards.

The Queen Elizabeth cruise liner went on to be awarded ‘Best New Ship’ and Cunard also won the award for ‘Best Pub at Sea’ due to their Golden Lion Bars on the Queen Victoria, Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth.

Other awards included ‘UK’s Best Port of Call’ which went to Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands and ‘Best UK Departure Port’ which was awarded to Southampton. Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas was considered ‘Best Cruise Ship for First Time Cruises’ and P&O Cruises are ‘Best for Honeymoons’.
