Celebrity Cruises’s Announce New Galapagos Ship
Celebrity Cruises have announced that they will be adding a new ship, Celebrity Flora, to their expedition fleet.
Celebrity Flora is set to make her debut in 2019 and will offer Galapagos Island cruises for no more than 100 guests. She will join Celebrity Xpedition, Xperience and Xploration who are already based in the region, and will be the first expedition ship Celebrity Cruises have purpose-built for this type of voyage.
The awarding-winning cruise line have designed Celebrity Flora to offer a more luxurious way to see the islands and this is evident in a number of elements. For example, the ship will boast an outward-facing design in order to give guests the opportunity to enjoy 360 degree views of the passing landscapes and scenery. She will also be an all-suite vessel, two of which will be Penthouses and are already set to be the largest of any ship operating in the Galapagos Islands.
As is important for any ship wishing to cruise the Galapagos, Celebrity Flora will be operating in an environmentally conscious manner. She will have a system in place which will convert seawater into fresh water and will adhere to the required waste management specifications set out by the Galapagos National Park authorities.
According to Celebrity Cruises’ president and CEO, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, guests cruising on Celebrity Flora “will feel as though they’re boarding a high-end yacht for a week of unparalleled adventures”. Lutoff-Perlo also believes that Celebrity’s experience in the region will enable them to offer a fully immersive experience, adding that “one thing we have learned from being there is how special, beautiful, wonderful and life-changing it is to experience the Galapagos.”.
