Celebrity Cruises Announce Renovation Plans for Millennium

Celebrity Cruises have announced their resort ship Millennium will undergo a major spruce up next spring. The 91,000-ton ship will gain a number of unique features similar to those already onboard Celebrity’s successful Solstice-class vessels.

The renovations will take place during April 2012 at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport. Millennium is expected to have a number of current features either changed or additions added including modernized accommodation, extra cabins and new restaurants.

The popularity of the Solstice vessels AquaClass cabins has meant Millennium will be fitted with the deluxe accommodation. Seventy standard balcony cabins are to be transformed into AquaClass cabins. Each cabin will include a massage shower, passes to the spa’s thermal suite and aromatherapy products.

Sixty brand new cabins will be added onboard Millennium, thirty-seven will be Aqua Suites and six will be inside cabins on Deck 11. The remaining 17 cabins will be elegant ocean view accommodation on Deck 3.

A number of eateries will be added including Qsine, an innovative restaurant that allows guests to order from iPad menus, a new relaxed bistro with an extensive lunchtime menu and Cafe al Bacio that will serve coffee and gelato. New evening bars will also be added including a Martini Bar and A Cellar Masters wine bar with added enomatic wine dispensers.

Other added features will include a Solstice-class style conference room, an iLoung computer lounge and a redesigned cinema.
