Celebrity Constellation To Receive Solstice Class Extras

Celebrity Constellation has gone into dry-dock with a view to adding a number of new features and accommodation options.

The 2034-guest capacity vessel –which has been in service for Celebrity Cruises since 2002 – is currently one of the line’s ‘Millennium Class’ ships but will be refurbished with a number of features more commonly found on lines’ fleet of ‘Solstice Class’ vessels.

The process of “Solsticizing” (the term given by Celebrity Cruises summarising the upgrades) will see Constellation receive a number of new features which will include the addition of 66 new cabins and 107 AquaClass cabins whilst verandas will be built onto selected suites throughout the ship.

The ships “Solsticizing” will also see the introduction of the iLounge – an Apple-endorsed internet suite that offers guest the use of many Apple products as well as offers classes and tutorials on how to get the most out of Apple’s latest technological innovations.

Further upgrades will also be made to the ships basketball court and the ships carpets and soft-furnishings.

Following her period in dry-dock, Celebrity Constellation will return to service on 5th May 2013 with a transatlantic sailing from Miami to Amsterdam before embarking a number of Baltic itineraries during the summer season.
