Sydney

As you sail effortlessly into Darling Harbour you shall get your first glimpse of the Harbour Bridge followed shortly after by the beautiful Sydney Opera House.
Once ashore you have unlimited options including the Opera House as mentioned above, Bondi Beach – A chance for you to experience a beautiful beach and in true Australian style or for something more at one with nature the Royal Botanical Gardens are an absolute must.
Melbourne
Australia’s second largest city, Melbourne is alive with a real vibrant city atmosphere, but venture just outside and you will find an array of things to do that are at a much slower and more relaxed pace.
The best way to explore the city is via Tram and it shall take you through the city to all the major points of interest. Aside from being quick and simple it is also the cheapest way to get around and is quite frequent.
Melbourne is set on the Yarra River and is close to many public beaches and national parks, in fact you will be spoilt for choice, but if you would prefer something with a little more substance then the National Gallery and Melbourne Museum will leave you in awe as you admire Australia’s finest collection of fine art and historical aboriginal artefacts.
Brisbane
Brisbane, Queensland Australia is one of the most beautiful cities in all of Australia and it has something to offer each and every type of traveller.
Beautiful beaches are a plenty and the surfing is pretty awesome here too. If you are hoping to enjoy a beach day during your Australasia cruise then this is the place to do it.
If you would prefer to get out there and explore the cultural aspect of Brisbane then the city really is your oyster. Head to the South Bank Parklands and you will reach the site of the 1988 World Expo. Nearby you will also find the Queensland Museum which you must explore. Popular exhibits include the story of Queensland’s prehistoric past and the Dandiiri Maiwar, which showcases the cultures of Queensland’s Aboriginal People. The museum is also a world-class research facility in biodiversity, geoscience and cultural history.
Wellington
New Zealand’s capital, Wellington is alive with modern touches yet it still gracefully holds on to its past and outstanding natural beauty.
One of the most intriguing places here to visit is the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, also known as “Our Place”. In January 2013 Te Papa management announced that the museum would be split into two sections – one operating as it has always done and the other focusing more on the future. This split gives the museum an individual feel but its real life exhibits offer something truly unique. A virtual reality bungee jump and earthquake experience are just two of the things on offer here.
If you would like to explore the natural beauty of Wellington then a visit to Zealandia is a must. Formerly known as the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Zealandia is a protected natural area and is very popular with both locals and tourists. There are numerous species of birds, reptiles and other animals to look out for here including the Forest Gecko, Grey Warbler, Tui, Maud Island Frogs and the Saddleback.
Dunedin
Dunedin is located in the South Island of New Zealand and is often referred to as the “Edinburgh of the South” due to its Scottish influence. Dunedin really is worthy of its title too. Everywhere you go you shall experience a taste of Scotland including a statue of the famous Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns, the woodland gardens of Glenfalloch and Dunedin’s First ever Church.
Lanarch Castle is also a must see. The build began in 1871 and it took over 200 skilled workmen three years to finish the buildings shell and European craftsmen spent 12 more years embellishing the interior. The views from Lanarch Castle are absolutely superb and you can enjoy high tea here every day from 3pm. The gardens are also incredibly impressive and were rated by the New Zealand Gardens Trust as a Garden of International Significance. You will not want to miss this and we would suggest you ensure your camera is fully charged before leaving the ship.
