Asia Cruises to India

India, in South Asia is one of the largest and most populated countries in the world. Since becoming independent from England in 1947 the country has managed to maintain a government system making it the world’s largest democracy. Mahatma Gandhi mainly led the struggle for independence and is now well known in the history of India.

The country offers a variety of scenery including the Himalayan Mountains, vast National Parks and some of India’s most stunning beaches along the west coast near Goa.

The biodiversity of India is shown via the flora and fauna which can be found in each of these areas, however human encroachment have meant that numbers have decreased significantly. For example the Red Panda is endemic to the foothills of the Himalayas and as numbers decrease the species have become protected. Other protected species include the Bengal Tiger and Asiatic Lion which organisations such as the Wildlife Protection Act are fighting to save through the protection of their natural environments and National Parks.

Whilst exploring India you will also discover the cultures and traditions of locals from the delicious cuisine to the fabulous music and dance performances.
