MV DISCOVERY
THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR CRUISING TO FARAWAY PLACES
DISCOVERY PRIDES HERSELF
On the destinations she visits. Your choice of vessel and cruise company is no less important. Yet trying to choose between one cruise ship and another can be confusing. Each has its virtues, and each a different emphasis, depending on the type of travel experience you want. Much in the limelight are today's mega-liners, spectacular floating resorts catering for anything upward of 2000 people. They offer Vegas style reviews, Broadway-size shows and a never-ending whirlwind of activities with gambling most often top of the bill. They also offer excellent value for those in the mood to party, but, owing to their sheer size, the number of ports able to welcome them is limited, and visiting others can be a problem. At the other end of the spectrum, small yacht-like ships offer a very luxurious, if expensive alternative. Guests can cruise in a club-like atmosphere to many more ports, along inland waterways and rivers to a whole range of destinations. But often, they will sail a course that clings to the coast, daunted by greater distances and the time required to sail from port to port.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Far from representing a compromise between the two, MV Discovery offers the best of both worlds. Discovery slips into the medium size category, deliberately designed to sail to a variety of destinations far and wide across the globe. Solidly constructed and with a deeper-than-average draft, she is as comfortable sailing the Pacific as she is mastering the waters of the Antarctic. Her speed and stability mean she is versatile, while her size makes her large enough to provide all the luxuries you'd anticipate and nimble enough to be welcomed in some of the more exotic and exclusive places around the world. Discovery sails with five to six hundred passengers. With room to accommodate many more, we decided, instead, to give you the extra space. It means you can enjoy the same attentive service you might find on a smaller vessel, be it on board or ashore. And, while you benefit from our experience of taking on long voyages, you'll also benefit from the same price advantages you'd find on most larger ships.
