Combining a small ship feel with a big sense of adventure!
Thought the golden age of cruising had passed? Well, think again! Traditional, friendly and eager to sail you to far-flung places, Artemis is a classic ship, with a timeless elegance.
An explorer at heart
The 'baby' of the fleet, Artemis joins the P&O Cruises fleet in June 2005. Offering traditional touches including teak and brass and all the intimacy of a smaller ship, her size allows her access into waters not charted by her larger sisters. So, whilst you set sail for exciting places off the beaten track, you can enjoy all the advantages that her size brings. A child-free ship, Artemis is the perfect choice for passengers wishing to enjoy an adventurous itinerary in the company of like-minded adults.
A free spirit
Named after the Greek goddess Artemis, the fiercely independent goddess of the wilderness and the hunt, our latest addition to the fleet rather aptly sails to a variety of lesser-visited ports.
Choose to holiday with Artemis and you could find yourself travelling back in time with a visit to the medieval city of Carcassonne from Sete, passing isolated hamlets and gushing waterfalls in Norway's scenic Aurlandsfjord or even exploring Latvia's charming capital, Riga. Or perhaps you'd like to honour Artemis' namesake with a visit to the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, in Ephesus? Gliding from port to port, you'll find Artemis blends the exhilaration of travelling to interesting and unusual places with blissfully comfortable and familiar surroundings.
The small ship with a big sense of community
You'll find a great sense of camaraderie on board, not to mention every amenity and facility you'd expect on a P&O Cruises superliner. You'll discover it's easy to meet like-minded people, making Artemis an approachable and friendly ship that you'll want to return to time after time. So, whether you're dining in the intimate surroundings of Artemis' main restaurant, taking in magnificent ocean views in her attractive Horizon Lounge or enjoying your favourite drink in her Riviera Bar, you're certain to feel at home.
Attend a classical concert in Artemis' Festival Theatre and you'll find the conviviality of her surroundings perfect for our Music Festival at Sea programme. Admire her elegant two tier atrium adorned with a decorative fountain sculpture and enjoy a stroll on her terraced decks, which afford excellent views of the everchanging surrounding seascape.
Perfectly formed
The only member of the fleet to accommodate her passengers exclusively in outside or balcony cabins, Artemis affords her passengers much freedom, light and space. In fact, she has over 16,000 square feet of windows so you need never be far from an ocean view. So, whether you'd like to relish breakfast on your balcony or watch the sun set over a sparkling sea, Artemis' charms will not escape you.
