Reception:The Spacious reception area is conveniently located on the A-deck and is accessed by both Port and Starboard side gangways.The reception desk/office is located in front of the aft elevator lift.

Launderette:The ‘Explorer II’ will feature a passenger launderette area with two washers and dryers.Use of these facilities is free of charge for guests and laundry detergent is provided.Of course, full laundry service will also be available for guests as well.

Shackleton Bar:This cozy formal bar features a baby grand piano and is centred in between the Main dining room and the main lounge/lecture hall.

Lecture Hall/Main lounge:The Lecture hall can seat all passengers for lectures presentations.The room is state of the art audio/visually equipped for slide, video and power point presentations.There are three screens (centre, port and starboard) guaranteeing that all guests will easily be able to enjoy and participate in the presentations.As mentioned, there is a closed circuit to all cabins, so guests can enjoy slide and power point presentations from their cabins if they so choose.The Lecture hall/main lounge can also be utilized for other functions as well such as dancing and music.

Shop/boutique: There is a shop and small boutique located on the Main deck adjacent to the Shackleton Bar.

Beauty Centre:The Beauty centre features full beauty salon facilities as well as massage and sauna.

Verandah Café:The Verandah Café seats 112 guests in open style seating and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.The food is both buffet and table service and is more casual than the main dining room.There is a sliding glass door that leads to the pool deck.

South Cape Bar:Located adjacent to the Verandah café with an adjoining partition to connect the two rooms.Very relaxed casual with a sliding glass door leading to the Pool deck.

Library:The Explorer II library is quite spacious and will be stocked with nearly 4,000 books plus a selection of DVD’s.There are also game tables for chess, checkers and puzzles.With comfortable seating, the library is adjacent to the smoking room, card room and cinema.

Smoking room:As we plan to maintain our non-smoking environment on board the ‘Explorer II’, the smoking room will offer a refuge for the smokers on board.This plush room can accommodate between 16 and 20 guests comfortably.

Card room: The card room can accommodate 32 guests and can be used for games and small meetings

Cinema:The Cinema (Auditorium) can accommodate 98 guests in elevated theatre style seating.Ideal for movies and small group lectures/presentations.There is also a piano located in the Cinema.

Pool Deck: Located at the aft end, the pool deck can accommodate 124 guests immediately around the pool, with seating also on the Promenade deck.This will be ideal for outdoor barbecue’s and functions.It will also be ideal during good weather for bird watching opportunities.

Gymnasium:The spacious gymnasium will feature weight equipment, stationary bikes, treadmills and other exercise equipment.The gym will be able to accommodate approx. 30 guests at a time.
