Windstar Cruises Announce Fleet Upgrades

Luxury cruise line Windstar Cruises has recently announced that all three members of their fleet will enhanced as part of an $18million upgrade project.

Windstar’s 3 yacht-style vessels – Wind Surf, Wind Star and Wind Spirit - will all be part of the line’s “Full Sail Ahead” program which is being rolled-out to improve all aspects of the Windstar experience; from onboard technologies to complete refurbishments of selected public spaces and accommodations.

Work on the upgrades will commence in December 2011 with the whole program due to be completed in late-Spring 2012, in time for busy Mediterranean season. This exciting program has plans to improve the fleet’s Staterooms and Suites with plush new bedroom furniture whilst both the Wind Spirit and Wind Star’s Pool Bar’s will be re-designed with a focus on increasing the vessel’s social experience.

Windstar Cruises has chosen MCVITTY Interior Consultants to partner them on the refurbishment program, with their lead designer Alan McVitty, claiming that their focus is to “provide Windstar with something completely different from currently exists in the luxury cruise market.”
