Royal Caribbean International’s new mega-ship, Allure of the Seas, made full use of its Retractable funnels as it set sail for its home port on the 29th October 2010.
The brand new cruise ship holds 6,200 passengers and is measured at 65 metres tall, the same height at which the Storebaelt Bridge of Denmark stands above sea-level. Luckily the ship features retractable funnels, allowing it to pass under the bridge with one meter to spare.
After leaving Turku in Finland, the ship will be sailing the North Sea and English Channel before arriving at Fort Lauderdale in Florida, which will then be the Allure of the Seas’ home port.
The mega-ship will then be setting sail on its maiden voyage to the Caribbean on 1st December 2010.
