The longest-serving member of the Sea Cloud Cruises fleet, Sea Cloud is a 64-guest windjammer guaranteed to turn heads in any port worldwide.

Sea Cloud’s illustrious history is well documented, having been initially built as a private luxury yacht more than 90 years ago. At the time of her first voyage in 1931, the vessel was considered the “largest private yacht in the world” and subsequently undertook various duties for the US Coast Guard service and the United States Navy. From 1947 onwards, the ship passed through numerous owners – including the ruler of the Dominican Republic, Rafael Trujillo – before being acquired by Sea Cloud in 1979.

In the modern era, Sea Cloud provides numerous opportunities to discover several of the world’s most beautiful destinations under billowing sails. From exploring marquee ports and hidden harbours in the Mediterranean and island-hopping in the Caribbean to unforgettable transatlantic crossings, a Sea Cloud cruise is ideal for small-ship luxury and a touch of seafaring romanticism on your next cruise holiday.

Sea Cloud Accommodation

Sea Cloud offers a range of accommodation options across 32 luxurious cabins. The ship’s original owner, the American socialite/philanthropist Majorie Merriweather Post, was given free rein over the ship’s interior design, much of which has been kept intact. Post’s inherent glamour and elegance are mirrored by the swan-shaped taps, magnificent marble fireplaces and fabulous French antiques. The small details, such as the welcome champagne and daily snacks, will leave you feeling right at home. Furthermore, all Sea Cloud cabins offer spectacular views of the ocean.

The onboard accommodation categories are as follows:

  • Upper/lower-bed Cabin
  • Twin Cabin
  • Double Bed Cabin
  • Deluxe Outside Cabin
  • Deluxe Original Cabin
  • Luxury Owner’s Cabin

Sea Cloud Restaurant and Dining

Dining aboard The Sea Cloud is an international affair. The main restaurant, located on the promenade deck, offers a blend of Caribbean, European and local specialities. Additionally, complimentary wine is served with every meal – the wine is expertly pre-selected to match the route.

If the weather permits, meals can also be served on deck. Evening barbecues are a firm favourite during the summer months.

Entertainment, activities and facilities

From the first morning coffee to the last evening cocktail, everyone quickly finds their favourite place aboard the iconic three-mast.

During the day

Each day at sea is a relaxed affair. Head to the ship’s stern to enjoy spectacular ocean views, courtesy of the Blue Lagoon seating area. Alternatively, inhale the refreshing sea air, read a book, or simply spend some time with your loved ones while relaxing in one of the many comfortable deckchairs.

When night falls

For pre/post-dinner drinks, head to the Lido Bar located on the top deck. Alternatively, journey to the deck below to enjoy live piano music and mingle with other like-minded guests in the lounge area. In the familiar atmosphere of a private yacht, friendships will inevitably develop and grow.
