Santander is situated in the north of Spain, it is a modern looking town due to a tornado and a fire which destroyed the town in 1941. Its historic centre makes for a great walk as it is full of little buildings, squares and flowering gardens. You can also take a typical Mediterranean stroll past the towns cafes and boutiques. The town also has a handful of stunning beaches which are ideal for sitting back and relaxing.
