Panama Canal Cruises 2012

There is no better way to enjoy one of man’s greatest engineering achievements than on one of our Panama Canal cruises in 2012. A breathtaking 51-mile waterway, a cruise along the Panama Canal offers passengers stunning views of one of the world’s most naturally beautiful landscapes as it bends and arches its way through the heart of Panama’s lush tropical rainforest.

Constructed in 1914, the Panama Canal was built with the intention of bridging the divide between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, thus lessening the need for maritime trade to cross the time-consuming swirling seas of Drake’s Passage. In recent times, it has become an increasingly popular choice of cruise holiday, particularly when part of a larger South American or Caribbean itinerary, with the canal’s passage and surrounding landscape lending itself perfectly for cruise ship navigation.

Panama Canal Cruise Deals 2012

At The Cruise Line we are delighted to offer a variety of Panama Canal cruise deals for 2012 across a wide selection of cruise lines and cruise ships. For example, you can choose to enjoy a luxury cruise with Regent Seven Seas along the Panama Canal in 2012 and enjoy added extras such as free flights and unlimited free shore excursions included in the price.

We also have deals for Panama Canal cruises with lines such as Oceania Cruises and Silversea Cruises who both offer low-price fares for early bookers as well as onboard credit on selected sailings.

Small Ship Panama Canal Cruises

One of the best ways to enjoy cruises on the Panama Canal is on small ship. Their small scale and small capacity mean they are perfect for getting the best out of a cruise along the Panama Canal. We offer small ship cruises with luxury cruise lines such as Silversea Cruises and on adventure-style lines including the fantastic Linblad Expeditions, whose National Geographic-endorsed voyages are perfect for a true voyage of Panama Canal-focused discovery.

For something completely different, then we recommend a Panama Canal cruise with Star Clippers. This fantastic cruise line offers you the opportunity to sail on one of the world’s largest fully-rigged sailing ships, adding an unrivalled level of romanticism to your 2012 Panama Canal cruise.

Best time to visit the Panama Canal on a cruise: You will find that most Panama Canal cruises scheduled for 2012 run between September and April and therefore avoid Central America’s customary ‘rainy season’.
Weather: January and February might be considered too hot and humid for most with highs around 30-35°. Late March/early April are highly recommended as the climate is beginning to adjust and become milder, offering a much more comfortable cruise experience.
Flight times: Most itineraries will commence from Los Angeles or Miami (11.5 hours and 9 hours from London respectively).
Recommended Panama Canal tours: Tours offered on Panama Canal cruises in 2012 vary depending on the itinerary you choose. However, Holland America’s walking tours of Cartagena (Columbia) are highly recommended for those who enjoy architecture and cultural landscaping, whereas the Forest Sky Walk offered by Regent Seven Seas in Puntarenas is fantastic for panoramic views of the Costa Rican rainforest.
