North America Cruises
From the university towns of the east coast to the sun-kissed beaches of the west, any North America cruise is destined to leave an impression.
Due to its vastness, it’s unlikely that you’ll find a cruise that takes in most of North America. However, you will find plenty of itineraries and that offer the opportunity to explore a selected region or coast line of this magnificent land.
The most popular of port of call for many cruise ships in North America is Fort Lauderdale in Miami. It is primarily used as an embarkation port for Caribbean cruises due to its location on the south eastern coast. Occasionally cruises that leave Fort Lauderdale might stop in Key West, a picturesque island in the Florida Keys that boasts chocolate-box style houses and glorious beaches - ideal for snorkelling and other water-sports.
Further up the east coast you will find Boston and New York, two excellent cities for shopping, entertainment and an insight into America’s cultural history. Visit Ellis Island in New York and retrace the footsteps made by over 8 million immigrants who arrived in the country between 1892 and 1954. In Boston, take a trip to the city’s harbour where the Tea Party took place in 1773.
Those in search of sun, national parks and a touch of glamour should head to the west coast where they will find glistening cities like San Francisco, San Diego and LA. Head further north and you’ll encounter Seattle, with its eye-catching Space Needle tower and mountain range backdrop.
Canada and New England Cruises
Cruises that visit eastern Canada and New England are an increasingly popular choice with many of our clients who love the region’s breathtaking scenery, historical architecture and European undertones.
Best visited in the fall season, when the regions foliage turns enchanting shades of red, yellow and orange, this beautiful region offers a different type of American cruise experience. Throughout your journey you will encounter quaint towns in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, explore the museums and sacred buildings of Montreal and watch the whales breaching the water’s surface in Maine.
Florida and The South
The southern states are often visited on Caribbean or Panama Canal voyages and they are certainly a treat. Ports such as New Orleans, Port Everglades for Miami and Key West are always a welcome addition to any voyage. There's no real best time to visit this part of the U.S., although New Orleans can be cold in the autumn and winter months, however, Florida isn't called the sunshine state for no reason. It offers pleasent temperatures year-round with high and humid temps in the summer months.
The West Coast
America's west coast offers an array of opportunities in ports such as San Diego, Los Angeles and Seattle. These are often embarkation ports, so you can visit, or cruise from them. See the world famous Golden Gate Bridge or cross the waters to Alcatraz from San Francisco, take a tour of Beverly Hills in California, or experience the grandeur of pleasure cruising from years gone by as you step aboard the original Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. The west coast is filled with exciting shoreside opportunities.
