North America Cruises

FROM THE UNIVERSITY TOWNS OF THE EAST COAST TO THE SUN-KISSED BEACHES OF THE WEST, ANY NORTH AMERICA CRUISE IS DESTINED TO LEAVE AN IMPRESSION.

North America is a fantastic country to explore via cruise ship and cruises here can also include stops in the Caribbean, Canada, the Bahamas and Central America – it simply depends where you sail from and which route your voyage takes.

The most popular of port of call for many cruise ships in North America is Fort Lauderdale in Miami – ideal for sun and thrill seekers - but further up the east coast you will find Boston and New York, two excellent cities for shopping, entertainment and an insight into America’s cultural history. Visit Ellis Island in New York and retrace the footsteps of over 8 million immigrants who arrived in the country between 1892 and 1954. In Boston, take a trip to the city’s harbour where the Tea Party took place in 1773. If National Parks are on your list, then head for the West Coast and destinations such as San Diego and Los Angeles. Head north-west and you’ll arrive in Seattle, with its eye-catching Space Needle tower and mountain range backdrop.

CRUISE LINES THAT VISIT NORTH AMERICA

Many of the luxury cruise lines that we offer sail to various parts of North America and they include: Crystal Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises, P&O Cruises, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and Cunard Line.

While most are fly-cruise options, we do have a selection of no-fly options that explore the eastern seaboard – destinations such as Boston, New York and Maine, and Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and P&O Cruises both offer longer voyages from UK ports that take in some fantastic destinations in North America, including Florida, New Orleans, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

BEST TIME TO VISIT NORTH AMERICA ON A CRUISE

North America is a vast country, so while the west coast could be warm and offer ideal temperatures for outdoor activities and beach days, the east coast could be shivering in cooler temperatures – it really all depends what you want to see and do.

The east coast is best explored during the autumn months as this time of year produces incredible foliage and the colours are simply stunning. Florida is pleasant year-round, but note that hurricane season runs from June to November. The west coast – depending how far north you go – offers virtually year-round sunshine.
