Gran Canaria is the third largest island of the canary islands and is the most southern on the islands. Gran Canaria is also known as the ‘miniature continent' because of its different landscapes and weather conditions found within the island. There is much to do on the island ranging from relaxing activities to sporting activities. Las Dunas de Mapalomas or Maspalomas are the Gran Canaria's famous sand-dunes. The south of the island offers plenty of beaches, from small beaches offering a lot of privacy, to beaches that stretch up to 4km long.
