French America Line operate voyages from March to December, with durations ranging from 4 to 14 nights. There are several fantastic itineraries to choose from, with our favourites including:
- The Deep South - Operates from New Orleans, Memphis and St. Louis and sails the Lower Mississippi and Red Rivers.
- Mississippi Headwaters - Operates between St. Louis and St. Paul and sails the Upper Mississippi.
- River Crossroads - Sails from Pittsburgh, Louisville or Memphis and combines scenic Ohio with the Mississippi.
- Gulf Waterways - Begins in either New Orleans or Pensacola and takes in the Lower Mississippi and the Intracoastal Waterway.
When it comes to exploring ashore, French America Line offer two shore excursion programmes. The first is the Traveller Collection, which is complimentary for all guests. Traveller Collection excursions are available in every port of call and include everything from walking tours of Beale Street in Memphis to entry to Pensacola's National Naval Aviation Museum.
The second programme is the Curator Collection, which offers excursions available for an additional charge and includes highlights such as a "behind the ropes" tour of Graceland and exclusive culinary experiences.
Your time with French America Line is further enhanced by the presence of an 'Illuminator'; a guest-speaker who has been specially selected based on their knowledge of the route Louisiane is sailing. Throughout the voyage they will host talks on everything from 19th century history to socio-economic changes and their ramifications with a view to enriching your experience while exploring the region.
