Fred Olsen Introduces New Cruise Theme Nights

Fred Olsen has announced they will be offering three exciting new theme nights onboard their ships. The theme nights will include a Nautical night with a seafaring flavour, a fifties Rock‘n’Roll night highlighting the decades music and fashion and an International night, celebrating the international culture of cruisng.

Each theme night will host quizzes, shows and special menus to reflect the theme night. The ships will be decorated in the appropriate style and the crew will dress in costume, guests will also be encouraged to wear fancy dress.

The retro Rock ‘n’ Roll nights will feature 1950s music and entertainment, drinks on offer will include the classic American milkshakes, soda and floats. The menu will be a play on some of the great music legends of that era offering a tomato salad called ‘Chuck Berry Salad,’ a spicy meatball dish titled ‘Great Balls of Fire’ from the song of Jerry Lee Lewis and a dessert of fruit and vanilla sauce named from Little Richards song ‘Tutti.'

Nautical nights will include as the name suggests a seafaring theme with entertainment and shows. The specially designed “Anchors Away” menu will include fish and seafood dishes such as a ‘Cornish Crab Bisque’ starter and a ‘Surf and Turf’ main course. For vegetarians, a ‘Porthole of Yorkshire Pudding’ will be available with veggie sausages.

The International night will be a celebration of world cruising from ships to destinations. The menu will entail a combination of dishes from around the world such as a starter choice of Thai Crab cakes or California Roll and the mains choice will be British Bangers and Mash or the delicious German beef dish ‘Sauerbraten.’

The new themed nights will be available on all Fred Olsens ships from the 2^nd of July.
