The US Virgin Islands are made up of 3 main islands and other smaller islands surrounding them. The archipelago is located in the north-eastern Caribbean. Two well known beaches on the islands are Trunk Bay and Magens Bay, the beautiful white sand leads down to crystal clear waters which are great for snorkelling and diving due to the rich marine life situated just of the shore of the islands. Inland, the islands tend to be quite hilly due to their volcanic characteristics.
